Once, long ago, this place was a monastery of some kind, and some areas still held reminders of that time. The most obvious was the hundreds of stones that made up the courtyard. Most of them weren’t local to this region and had been brought from all over, shaped into square blocks, then arranged in some manner or reason that was lost to time. They were of several colours and spread out from the centre of the courtyard in overlapping concentric circles and geometric patterns.
