“Our home, known to outsiders as the Abyss, or Hell, is Abys’sul.
It is a realm of strife and challenge that would be torment to others,
but surviving it does help to strengthen us as a race.
A lifetime of struggles and challenge has made us a race to be feared.
And though we have conquered our own world, and fought for our place,
it is no surprise that we are never content,
and that we will take whatever other worlds we can get our hands on.“
-Line from an unknown Speaker about Abys’sul, translated from Infernal.

Hell is very similar, yet almost opposite to Heaven.
It is not a world in the traditional sense, but it is not a higher plane either, even if it is considered a greater plane.
It is one landmass floating in a sea of stars and nebulae, yet still has the inhabitable atmosphere and gravity of somewhere like Earth.
Otherwise, it is a harsh, almost dead place, with tall volcanic mountains, and deep canyons and harsh steppes.
It’s inhabitants, the demons, live at constant battle with the nature around them, though they have tamed its creatures…

WHAT IS KNOWN
• Hell is a physical realm, but a harsh unforgiving landscape.
• It is surrounded by stars and nebulae, but these are almost impossible to see beneath the constant volcanic cloud cover.
• It is inhabited by demons, and some manner of wildlife.
• After the end of the Great War, it was sealed away.
• Its landscape is a constant reminder of the many wars started by demons, with themselves, and others.
• Both He’aeven, and Abys’sul are neighbours with Purgatory.

ARCHIVIST’S NOTE
Abys’sul was sealed away at the end of the last war, after a long debate that deemed it too dangerous to leave accessible. We have not checked on them since, and some argue we should keep regular updates.
